Neunkirchen/Oberwang, 14 April 2026. For the new Red Bull GmbH operations building in Oberwang, the Austrian lightweight metal construction specialist Hans Taborsky & Sohn GmbH manufactured the external façade with elements for the production hall, block and pallet storage, workshops as well as office and social rooms. On behalf of Taborsky, SCHÄFER Perforated Metal was responsible for the perforation of the coil-coated primary material and implemented the RV 6–8 round perforations across the full surface and with precise dimensional accuracy. This ensured that the open area required for the architectural application was achieved reliably.
The particular challenge lay in the careful processing of coil sheets coated on both sides without a protective film on the reverse side. As the profiles are visible both inside and outside, processing without any surface impairment was essential. SCHÄFER Perforated Metal focused on clean, process-reliable perforation and flawless handling of the supplied primary material. From material feed through to the perforated component, which Taborsky then further processed for façade production.
The profile defined by the architecture, with a profile height of 85 millimetres, was fully perforated and executed with a relative open area of 51 per cent. The RV 6–8 round perforations support transparency and air circulation. The polyester coating on both sides in RAL 9004 (Signal Black) underlines the clear architectural language. While Taborsky manufactured and supplied the façade profiles, the surface-protecting perforation by SCHÄFER Perforated Metal laid the foundation for the appearance, durability and dimensional accuracy of the profiles processed by Taborsky.
“The collaboration with SCHÄFER Perforated Metal was cooperative and precise in every respect,” says Florian Taborsky, Managing Director of Hans Taborsky & Sohn GmbH. “What was crucial was that our coil-coated primary material was perforated without any surface impairment whatsoever. The quality achieved exceeded our expectations.” Red Bull GmbH also views the result positively: the façade combines functionality, aesthetics and technical perfection and blends harmoniously into the architecture of the Oberwang location.
With more than 85 years of experience in steel processing, SCHÄFER Perforated Metal is a reliable manufacturing partner in façade and architectural metal construction. The focus in Oberwang was on the precise, clean perforation of customer-supplied primary material, including sensitive surfaces. For comparable projects, SCHÄFER Perforated Metal offers a broad spectrum of hole patterns as well as processing services such as perforating, bending, laser cutting, straightening, notching, deburring, degreasing, coating and anodising in order to support façades manufactured by partners such as Taborsky efficiently and with consistent surface quality.
The project in Oberwang stands for partnership on equal terms: Hans Taborsky & Sohn was responsible for material selection and procurement, manufacture of the façade profiles and delivery of the façade, while SCHÄFER Perforated Metal complemented this with precise perforation of the supplied primary material. The result is a seamlessly coordinated value chain that combines quality, on-time delivery and a compelling façade solution “Made in Germany”.
